He is also an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Teaching, Leadership & Hospital Roles

Dr. Kim is deeply involved in ophthalmic education and clinical leadership. He previously served as:

• Chief Resident
• Associate Director of Ophthalmic Education
• Assistant Director of the Ocular Trauma Service at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary

During his retina fellowship at the Barnes Retina Institute, he received the Golden Apple Teaching Award from the Department of Ophthalmology at Washington University in St. Louis.

He currently teaches at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, where he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor. He also serves as Chief of Ophthalmology and Director of Pediatric Retina at Northwest Community Hospital.
